9/11 An Essay of Ground Zero The calamity that shocked the world - News Film Media's editor and photographer Karl Haupt managed to penetrate the military no-go area of the "Zone" in its early stage and covered the World Trade Center wreckage, the on-site search and rescue teams and the volunteer workers in an extensive photo essay. These photos have been reprinted in various publications and have been exhibited in museums, cultural institutions and photo galleries the USA, Germany and Switzerland. Other photographs from the NFM image archive have been front page material for numerous news publications, covering subject matters of the human experience, ranging from the mundane to the spectacular.
